Marilissa GosselinMarilissa Gosselin
Ontario PC Candidate
Glengarry – Prescott – Russell

The experience of working with start-up companies, small businesses, and multinationals has given Marilissa Gosselin the necessary knowledge and skills to help make Ontario lead again.

A fully bilingual Certified Management Accountant with several years of experience within the private and public sectors, she has developed an expertise in cost accounting, contract bidding, budget analysis and forecasting – skills that will be valuable to the Ontario PC team as we tackle the large deficit that the
McGuinty Liberals have racked up over the years.

She knows the importance of accountability, something that has been sorely lacking under the Liberal regime.

A graduate of Université du Québec en Outaouais in Finance in 2002, Marilissa earned her Certified Management Accounting designation in 2006.

She worked in an accounting firm in Orleans and for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities before joining Waste Management in 2005. At the age of 26 she was named Pricing Manager for Eastern Canada for Waste Management, making her one of the youngest executives in the Fortune 500 firm.

After three years with the firm she joined the Ministerial office of the Hon. Vic Toews when he was president of the Treasury Board. As a policy adviser she reviewed Treasury Board submissions to ensure programs were aligned with government’s priorities and developed policies on financial reporting and internal audits to increase transparency and accountability throughout government, skills and experiences that will come in handy when the next Ontario PC government tackles the McGuinty Liberal deficit.

Marilissa has been committed to volunteering for almost all of her life. Whether it’s been as a teacher for young cross country skiers, a fundraiser for arts councils, a volunteer for Franco-Ontario radio, or serving residents of Forest Park as treasurer of the local homeowners association, Marilissa has been an active participant in her community.

Her commitment to community and democracy goes further than local involvement. She has also traveled to Peru independently to meet with representatives of the Institute of Liberty and Democracy, a Lima-based think tank devoted to the promotion of property rights in developing countries.

Marilissa is no stranger to politics. Besides serving as Ontario PC riding association president in Glengarry – Prescott – Russell, she’s helped manage federal campaigns and conducted interviews at both the local and national level. Her father, Gaëtan Gosselin, is a former town councilor in the Northern Ontario municipality of Mattice.

    Hello;

I see a lot of positive promises for families in the Change paper. I have a question about the Ont. PC Parties view on the Min. of Education’s Inclusive Education Policy, as I did not see it mentioned in the paper.

    Good Evening Ms. Gosselin

We just received our election cards in the mail yesterday. We are supposed to be going to Alfred, Ontario a 40 minute drive to vote in October. Our address is 5745 Rockdale Rd., Vars, Ontario. K0A 3H0. We usually vote at St. Guillaume school in Vars just a 3 minute walk. Our neighbour just 6 doors down get to vote at the school in Vars.

I know there are lots of people in Vars that usually just walk to the school and that they won’t be going to Alfred to vote, especially if their neighbours can go down the street to vote. Not sure what happened here but please could you look into this and let me know. Because I don’t really want to drive all the way to Alfred when there is a pole across the street.

    Thanks and Good Luck

    Mary Ann Shirley

    Salut Marilissa,

    Are you ProLife?

  • S. Tauvette:

I have been trying to find out information about you. I finally found it on the website –you appear to be a good candidate but I would like to meet you before I vote for you. I received one phamphlet but I still do not know your platform. I have a sign on my lawn and I ask myself why?
This is the most frustrating election that I have ever participated in. The candidates are virtually unknown; Tim Hudak’s campaign has been lacklustre; I do not know what the Liberal candidate looks like; the NDP candidate is not my image of a solid candidate; and I intensly dislike Dalton McGuinty —
I am a “political animal” but I am seriously thinking of declining my ballot — if I do vote it will be anything but Liberal —
Anyway, good luck Thursday. You do not have to reply –but I want you and the PC party to know how frustrated I am. I was hoping for change but we will not get it. I may move out of the province. I cannot stand more years of Liberal rule.
    S. Tauvette, Navan
