Katherine McCall

Katie MccallKatherine McCall ~ Parent Volunteer, Autism and Asperger’s Family Support Group. Her grandfather used to say, “I have met many happy optimists but not one happy pessimist” a creed she tries to live by. In the past, Katie has been a YMCA camp counselor, a ski instructor for 3-5 year olds, an English teacher in Nagano-Ken Japan, home of the 1998 Olympics, and a Government of Canada employee working on projects for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Millennium Bureau of Canada, Homelessness and the Canadian Biotechnology Secretariat.

All of these experiences help in her current mission. Mother of two very active sons, whose oldest was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome at the age of 3, one of the youngest diagnosed. Katie now devotes her time to learning more about Autism and Asperger’s and is a very strong advocate in her mission to help families with their challenges and dreams for their children on the autism spectrum and their siblings. She has established the Autism and Asperger’s Family Support Group and is full of great ideas for the group she hopes to see come to fruition.
