Hannah

HANNAHHannah

1938 Born in Ottawa in a storm and called Gail. ( Is why I prefer to be called Hannah)

1945 Ottawa East Yoyo Champion

1946 Ottawa East Bolo Bat Champion

1960′s Goose Bay Labrador – Choreographed the highest paid chorus line in the world. 7 full bird Colonels and a General. Dance called Hello Dolly.

… Rough Riders Majorette ( Lieutenant capacity) — taught youngsters baton twirling — twirled on ice at the Ottawa Auditorium and only once down a ski hill with flaming batons temporarily burning my hair, it doesn’t show anymore.

… 1968 watched 50 women being interviewed for a job in the control room that I was told already had. (Oh the old days)

70′s Oh whatever happened to 70′s – Oh Yes – I got married in my tennis dress by a Reverend from a penitentiary (in those days you wrote your own ceremony). The reception was strawberries, ice cream and mom’s egg salad sandwiches. His name was Hannah — kept the name — left the man.

80′s climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to the top in a vest from my ex –a ring from a dear friend and a moonstone from the love of my life that he asked me to throw into the crater.

… 3 golds and 2 silver medals at the coroporation games representing CBC. Don’t get too excited there were not a lot of competitors in my age group. Some — but not a many.

1985 — Decided to get serious about yoga which has been a part of my life for 45 years. By 2003 had done all 3 levels of Intergral Yoga Teacher training.

While we are on the subject — Yoga is my passion. A cure for all health systems. My interest is to make yoga the preferred medicine of Canada, prescribed by Doctors and paid for by insurance. Yoga is a tooth brush for the mind and body. Know that when you listen to your body ( especially the breath) it will guide you very closely throughout your whole life. Tools like meditation can lead you to the cause of discomfort.

Cherry Stems — Can tie a knot in a cherry stem with the mouth and no hands.

Body — The butt of a 20 year old (as long as I have my Lulu Lemon pants on)

Old Age — is great — as long as you do the work. Move ( nordique poling is good) — stay in the moment — work your joints and your muscles and above all — stretch. Also, old age allows you to flirt with anyone — they would never think you are coming on to them.
